Sponsor of India pavilion at the London Design Biennale 2021:Government of Chhattisgarh

 



Raipur, June 5, Chhattisgarh government is honoured to becoming one of the sponsors of the India pavilion at the London Design Biennale and its state forest policy is the part of innovative ideas to be showcased at the world's largest design exhibition.

The third edition of the London Design Biennale will be held from June 01, 2021 to June 27, 2021 at Somerset House in London with Es Devlin as Artistic Director. In this exhibition, 22 countries, including Austria, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Venezuela will participate from six continents and will present their views on the theme ‘Resonance’. Through their designs, the participants will try to answer Es Devlin's question on 'How can current problems be solved through design?’.
The India Pavilion at the London Design Exhibition 2021, will be curated by India's renowned architect Nisha Mathew Ghosh and she will put India's new ecological agenda on the world stage. The exhibition titled 'Small is beautiful: A Billion stories' will be a glimpse of the ideas of India's design ideologues to present solutions to the problems of the ecosystem and the climate crisis with new age designs.
As the sponsor of the India Pavilion and a part of the exhibition, the Government of Chhattisgarh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, will present and display the State Forest Policy in the pavilion. The Chhattisgarh State Forest Policy, due to its multi-dimensional design and vision, has been chosen as the main attraction by the Chief Director of the pavilion, Nisha Mathew Ghosh.
This forest policy, through the private sector, farmers, village panchayats and government departments, is focused on promoting and helping commercial plantations for timber so that the state's industrial, furniture, firewood can be met and India's dependence on timber import is reduced. Apart from these, this forest policy will promote greenery in the state in a big way, which will increase the forest area and will prove helpful in the prevention of climate problem, ground water level, drought and flood in the state.
The recognition of the forest policy of the state of Chhattisgarh is a matter of pride for the state, and its display along with some selected and innovative ideas, to the world in the biggest exhibition to present the ideas on which the future of our planet depends. Mayor of London Sadiq Khan while inaugurating the London Design Exhibition at Somerset House tweeted on 01 June 2021 “38 Exhibition, 6 Continents with Es Devlin's beautiful 'Forest for Change' in the courtyard of Somerset House. The London Exhibition, the first major cultural event since the lockdown, is open.
This exhibition is being covered by reputed media organizations of the world and will be open for the public until 27 June 2021.
