ARMY CARRIES OUT PLANTATION DRIVE

 


Jaipur, Friday, 02 July .  A mega plantation drive was undertaken by Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) led by Mrs Komal Mago, Zonal President AWWA. 


The drive was a part of the Military Station's efforts to contribute to the environment and bio-diversity. A total of 14000 saplings from Jangirana Nursery, Birtalab Range, were planted in coordination with DFO, Bathinda, these included 3000 fruit trees, 7500 shade trees and 3500 ornamental trees. In order to ensure that the saplings survive, the ownership of each sapling has been entrusted to the individuals planting them.

          The Military station is also a polythene free Zone with garbage collection and disposal being carried out in an environment friendly way. The plantation drive was undertaken to mark the 43rd Raising Day of Chetak Corps and was an apt act of contribution for healthy environment.
