The ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ continues with an invigorating spirit. This initiative commemorates 75 years of an independent India, the land of culture and tradition. In accordance with the ongoing celebrations, Air Force Station Jodhpur organised a felicitation ceremony for the Gallantry Award Winners and War Heroes on 12th august 2021, webcasted on the Gallantry Awards Portal (GAP) .
The event was inaugurated by Air Commodore Prajual Singh, Vayu Sena Medal, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Jodhpur. Air Officer delivered an inspirational speech, instilling a sense of pride and patriotism among the attendees. The next of kin of the War Heroes, Late Air Vice Marshal Chandan Singh (Retd) Maha Vir Chakara, Ati Vishisht Sewa Medal, Vir Chakra, Late Colonel Megh Singh (Retd) Vir Chakara,and Late Hony Flt Lt Jagmal Singh (Retd) Shaurya Chakra, were felicitated on the occasion. Tokens of appreciation were also conferred on living legends-Group Captain Ashok Kumar Singh (Retd) Vir Chakara and Wg Cdr Anil Mathur (Retd) Kirti Chakara. The event was marked with exchange of tales of valour of decorated heroes. The awardees and their families felt a sense of pride at their achievement and spectators, extended of gratitude towards their decorated heroes.
