AN EMOTIONAL WAY CYCLE TOURISM IS A TRAVEL EXPERIENCE THAT WILL CONNECT TOURIST WITH LOCAL PEOPLE

 


Jaipur, 26 September: In the early hours of Sunday morning Pink City cyclists were seen exemplifying the awareness of being fit and healthy on World Tourism Day with the theme 'A pedal towards change'. Where more than 8000 cyclists from across the country and abroad were riding bicycles from their homes in the virtual third edition of AU Bank Jaipur cyclothon with full enthusiasm more than 2500 cycle rides from Jaipur also participated. Organized jointly under the aegis of IIMR, Jaipur District Vaish Federation Central and Rotary Club Jaipur Citizen and Jaipur Runners Club, Director of AU Bank Jaipur Cyclothon, Mukesh Mishra and Chairman of Organizing Committee, Sudhir Jain Godha said that cycle tourism is an travel experience, which tourists can enjoy connecting with local people in an emotional way. Jaipur has immense potential for cycle tourism, especially in the wall city, which gives a feel of the city's fragrance, which tourists cannot feel or see from their vehicles. The bicycle is easy transport that does not harm the environment and gives itself freedom and autonomy. This type of travel is very popular in countries like Italy, France, UK, Netherlands, Japan, Vietnam, Germany where dedicated cycling tracks are already built and it is slowly becoming popular in India too.

 

The third virtual edition of AU Bank Jaipur Cyclothon was flagged off by Patron of Cyclothon, Pt. Suresh Mishra, DG Ashok Mangal of Rotary; Commissioner Income Tax, Shailendra Sharma; Amit Agarwal, Director, JECRC; Founder 'Abdominal Cancer Day', Dr. Sandeep Jain; Mukesh Mishra, founder of Jaipur Cyclothon; Organizing Committee Chairman Sudhir Jain Godha; Rotary Club Jaipur Citizen, President Manoj Jain; Ashok Jain Harkawat of Jaipur District Vaish Federation Central; Piyush Soni of Rotary Club Jaipur Vision; JK Jain of Citizen Foundation; Sanjay Pabuwal and distributed medals at different locations in the city. Saurabh Tambi, Senior Vice President, AU Small Finance, Bank said that in this drive of change, the employees & customers of AU Bank from across the country participated enthusiastically and steered the pedestal towards this fitness change.

 

The cyclist participated in 7 categories of 2km, 5km, 10km, 20km, 30km, 50km and 100km and created a new record as the country's biggest virtual cycling event. With the first rays of the sun at 4 am cyclists from around the world started cycling. The participants who did not have cycles were also provided cycles at 18 locations set up in Jaipur and people in the age group of 5 to 70 years cycled from different places. This year along with Jaipur, 5 countries United Kingdom, Canada, USA, Bangladesh & Australia and 25 states namely Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana etc participated. 150 groups from across the country namely AU Bank, Income Tax Department, Indian Railway, Air Force, ARL Infratech, City Vibe, JECRC University, Jaipur Runners, Rotary Club Jaipur Citizen, Miss Rajasthan, Jaipur District Vaish Federation Central, Rotary Club Jaipur Vision, Fortis Hospital, Kalaneri Art Gallery, Jain Citizen Foundation participated.
