MINI MARATHON AND EQUIPMENT DISPLAY


 Jaipur, 18 September.As a part of celebration of ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ commemorating 50 years of  victory the 1971 War, more than 200 personnels from Army, Air Force, BSF, CRPF, State Police and NCC Cadets participated in Mini Marathon displaying their commitment of remaining fit through disciplined regimen to face any challenge. 

The Mini Marathon was flagged off by Maj Gen Rajendra Rai, SM, GOC, 61 Sub Area along with other dignitaries of the  civil administration in attendance. The winners in different categories were honoured with medals by Maj Gen Raju Chauhan, VSM from Sapta Shakti Command. Special participation of three young children was indeed very encouraging. The Equipment display at Chitrakoot Stadium drew a large number of visitors froms across all age groups. 

The event specially attracted the youth as they acquainted with the weapons and technology which our nation’s armed forces have. The variety of equipment included tanks, Infantry weapons, Air Defence guns and specialised Engineers and communication equipment which visibly caught the curious eyes. Military display of equipment  has been a methodology to instil a sense of pride and faith in the custodians of national security in the hearts and minds of the local population and the event was enjoyed and appreciated by all visitors. 

The students and the youth demonstrated notable enthusiasm and interest and clarified myriad issues with the staff responsible for the display. Besides the equipment display youth clarified their minds on how to join the Armed Forces.
