Jaipur, October 8. Chief Minister Mr Ashok Gehlot
said that investments are being made on a large scale in the state due to the
state government’s investment-friendly policies. Besides, the investor friendly
policy framework, the excellent road network and quality human resources have
played an important role in bringing investments to the state.
The Chief Minister addressing the inaugural session of
Invest Rajasthan Summit-2022 at JECC on Friday said that the state government
has taken many important decisions to promote investments in the state. It
became easy to get the necessary permissions for setting up industries with
Single Window System and One Stop Shop.
Shri Gehlot said that an exemption of 3 years was given for setting up new industries for taking necessary approvals under the Rajasthan Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Facilitation of Establishment and Enforcement) Act, which now has been extended to five years. The state government gave this economic support to protect small industries from getting closed during the period of the corona pandemic. There is no situation of labour unrest due to the social security schemes of the state government.
The Chief Minister said that big investments are coming in the state from this two-day Invest Rajasthan Summit. He said that prior to the summit, the state government had signed MoUs of approximately Rs 11 lakh crore with the investors. There is a possibility of around 10 lakh people getting employment from these investments. He said for the first time, MoUs were signed on priority with the theme of ‘Committed & Delivered’.
The Chief Minister said that today Rajasthan has
emerged as the best option for investors. The state is a leader in the entire
country in the generation of solar and wind energy. The state also has the maximum
mineral reserves, besides, natural resources and excellent human resources.
There is a huge scope in the field of petrochemicals with the construction of
the refinery.
The Chief Minister said that Rajasthan is making unprecedented progress in all sectors due to the efforts of the state government. Despite the problems faced due to the corona pandemic, the state’s GDP increased by Rs 3 lakh crore. This has increased the per capita income of the state along with the happiness index. Today a total of 390 units of RIICO (Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation) are functioning in the state and 147 new ones are going to be opened. With this, industrialization will expand up to sub division and tehsil level. The state government is working in excellent coordination with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Institutions such as Fintech Park in Jaipur and Rajiv Gandhi Fintech Digital Institute in Jodhpur are being constructed to provide young experts for tech industries. Innovation hubs are being set up at Jaipur, Jodhpur and Kota to promote Startups.
The Chief Minister dedicated 25 industrial areas in various districts of the state. Along with this, he also dedicated 18 industrial units and laid the foundation stone of 33 industrial units. With this, industrial development will get pace in various districts of the state and will also increase employment at the local level and revenue.
The Chief Minister on this occasion felicitated 6 dignitaries with Rajasthan Ratna Award for their exemplary works and for making Rajasthan proud in India and abroad with their extraordinary works. All were awarded citation, shawl, memento and prize money of Rs lakh. Justice Shri Dalveer Bhandari for being appointed at the International Court and former chief justice of India Shri RM Lodha in the field of justice, Vedanta Group chairman Shri Anil Agarwal and ArcelorMittal chairman Shri LN Mittal in the industry sector and in the field of arts famous director Shri KC Maloo and famous Urdu poet Shri Sheen Kaaf were felicitated with ‘Rajasthan Ratna’ award.
The Chief Minister said that the state government to provide freedom to the general public from the costly treatment by implementing the Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana and people are getting treatment up to Rs 10 lakh through this scheme. The limit of Rs 10 lakh has been put to an end in costly treatments such as kidney, heart and liver transplants along with accident insurance of Rs 5 lakh is also being given. Costly diagnoses such as CT Scan, MRI etc are being provided free of cost to the general public. With these historical decisions, the state has emerged as a model state in the health sector.
The Chief Minister said that soon the state government would give free smartphones to women heads of 1.33 crore families in the state with free internet services for 3 years. Shri Gehlot said that women and children of the state would be linked with the digital era through this initiative of the state government.
The Chief Minister said that the Central Government
should soon give the status of the national project to the Eastern Rajasthan
Canal Project (ERCP). Rajasthan has limited water resources and Chambal is the only
perennial river. ERCP is very important to ensure water for irrigation and
drinking purposes for 13 districts in the state. The Prime Minister himself in
many meetings has said to give the status of the national project to ERCP. He
said that with the delay in declaring ERCP as the national project, there are
chances that its cost will increase by many times like the Pachpadra refinery.
This would put an additional burden on the resources of the state.
Mr Gehlot said that the state government is giving
top priority to education. He said that today there are 89 universities in
Rajasthan. He said that the present government has opened 210 colleges in the
state including 90 girls’ colleges. Besides this, a big step has been taken to
promote girls’ education by taking a decision to turn the schools with an
enrolment of 500 girls into colleges.
Industry Minister Smt Shakuntala Rawat said that the
government is promoting traditional and emerging industries in the state. Work
is being done with positive thinking on the suggestions of the entrepreneurs.
State is getting continuous investments due to better coordination between the
government and entrepreneurs.
Industries department additional chief secretary Smt
Veenu Gupta said that Rajasthan is a leading state in the country in mineral
reserves, law and order situation, tourism and different kinds of agriculture
products. The industrial development in the state has got pace due to the
conducive investment policies of the government.
Vedanta Group chairman Mr Anil Agarwal said that
Rajasthan is the leading state in natural and human resources. There are huge
possibilities in the field of oil. The mining industry has also developed here.
With the decisions of Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot, the coordination between
the entrepreneurs and the government has improved. He said that the Vedanta
Group is working with the state government to provide excellent sports
facilities to youth and girls in Jaipur.
Adani Group chairman Mr Gautam Adani said that
Rajasthan has moved ahead a lot in social upgradation. He praised the state
government’s schemes such as Udaan and Anuprati Coaching. He said that the time
to set up industries in the state has reduced a lot with the policies of the
chief minister. The Super thermal power plant was ready in a record time of 36
months due to all permissions given by the state government recently. He said
that the tough geography of the state has emerged as its strength due to the
policies of the state government. He said that Adani Group is going to make a
huge investment in wind, solar and hybrid power plant in the state.
Torrent Group chairman Shri Sudhir Mehta said that
Rajasthan is far ahead in natural resources, road network, investment policies
etc. He said that Torrent group will be investing in the field of hydrogen and
making related products.
DCM Shriram chairman Shri Ajay S Shriram said that the
industrial environment in Rajasthan is excellent for investment. The road
network of Rajasthan is connected with the main markets in the country through
the freight corridor and Delhi-Mumbai expressway.
Mahindra & Mahindra Limited’s Shri Anish Shah said
that Rajasthan is an excellent example of the coordination between
entrepreneurs and government therefore it has become a centre of attraction for
investors. He said Mahindra & Mahindra with the government has contributed
in innovations such as Abhay Command Centre. Tata Power’s Pravir Sinha said
that in the future manufacturing of solar panels and assembling work will be
done in Rajasthan.
ArcelorMittal’s Shri Pravar das said that there is a
need for a new kind of training in changing dimensions of the economy. The
state government setting up excellent educational institutions is providing
good human resources for the industries.
Birla Group chairman Shri CK Birla said that Rajasthan
has emerged as an excellent state for investors with the efforts of the state
government. He said that Birla Group will soon set up a big cement plant in
Rajasthan.
On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Shri CP Joshi,
Education Minister Dr. BD Kalla, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shri Pratap
Singh Khachariyawas, Rajasthan Small Industries Development Corporation
chairman Shri Rajiv Arora, Chief Secretary Smt Usha Sharma, economic advisor
Shri Arvind Mayaram, RIICO Chairman Shri Kuldeep Ranka, CII Director General
Shri Chandrajeet Banerjee along with public representatives, 3000 delegates
from India and abroad and officers were present.
In the presence of Chief Minister Shri Gehlot, Adani
Group chairman Shri Gautam Adani said that Adani Foundation will build a
medical college with a civil hospital in two districts without the medical
college. He also announced to extend full support to the state government in
building the cricket stadium in Udaipur.
