Appointment of 700 people under Education Department




 Raipur. June 4. In order to implement Chief MinisterMr Bhupesh Baghel’s instructions regarding compassionate appointment, School Education Department has given compassionate appointment to 700 people in just one week. Preparations are underway to give appointment to the 79 remaining applicants in next one week.

In the cabinet meeting held on 18th May under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Cabinet had decided to relax the limit of 10 percent for compassionate appointment on Grade-III posts till 31st May 2022. Chief Minister had given instructions to all the departments to act swiftly and sensitively for providing appointment on compassionate grounds to the eligible people at the earliest. School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam had asked the departmental officers to take immediate action in this regard.

Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Dr. Alok Shukla and Director Mr. Jitendra Shukla launched a drive to provide early compassionate appointment to the relatives of the deceased teachers and other employees during COVID crisis, as top priority. And within 7 days, nearly 700 eligible youth of all 31 education districts of the state were given appointment orders.

This step of School Education Department has brought relief to not only the families who were in crisis due to untimely demise of earning member because of COVID, but also the families whose compassionate appointment cases were pending for many years. From 28 May to 4 June 2021 i.e. within a week only, 700 out of 779 eligible applicants have been appointed as assistant teachers and clerks in various districts. 518 cases of State Compassionate Appointment were pending for years due to the limitation on vacant posts, besides, death of 411 teachers in the department due to COVID-19 had left their families almost hopeless.

According to the information received from School Education Department, 100% eligible candidates in most of the districts of the state have been appointed in schools and offices under this compassionate appointment drive. Director Jitendra Shukla has directed all the Joint Directors and District Education Officers today to resolve the cases of the remaining 79 eligible applicants within the next one week. In addition, orders have been issued to the field officers today for immediate disposal of the cases related to all other entities to the dependents of such family.
