Mental health issues arising due to COVID-19


 Chandigarh, June 2– To render a helping hand to people facing mental health issues arising due to COVID-19 pandemic, Faridabad District Administration has started tele-consultation and treatment services for the residents of Faridabad District.

 Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson said that a helpline number has been started by the District Administration under the guidance of Haryana, Social Justice and Empowerment Department through tele-consultation so that people can get relief from such health issues.     

   He said that in the current situation of COVID-19 pandemic, people are facing several mental health issues. Besides this, people are apprehensive about stepping out of their homes for counselling or availing medical services due to Corona. 

He said that residents of Faridabad district can take tele-consultation at the number 01294160330 daily from 9 am to 5 pm. He said that this tele-consultation service would be provided free of cost.     He said that this helpline number started in the state is a unique service, where people can reach out to the experts from the ease of their homes. 

He said that after assessing the condition of the people the District Administration decided to provide counselling services with the help of experts associated with Social Justice and Empowerment Department. Those taking consultation will be referred to suitable specialists, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and counsellors as per their requirement.
