Drive will be further given pace for 100% vaccination – Health Minister


Jaipur, October 21.Health Minister Dr. Raghu Sharma said that 6 crore 10 lakh 93 thousand 738 people in the State have been administered the dose of corona vaccine. He said that 4 crore 21 lakh 52 thousand 775 people have been administered the first dose and 1 crore 89 lakh 40 thousand 963 people have been administered both doses. He said that the vaccination drive will be given further pace for cent percent inoculation of the targeted group. He said that the department is fully prepared for the vaccination of people aged less than 17 years.

Dr Sharma said that recently Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot through VC had directed the medical department officers to speed up the vaccination drive. He said that the State is also on the top in the country in vaccination after the corona management. “It would be our effort that vaccination is done in a time-bound manner and at a fast pace so that we can easily cover the targeted group,” he added.

The Health Minister said that the targeted group of children up to 17 years in the State is around 1 crore 10 lakh. There is complete preparation for their vaccination. The department has sufficient storage, cold chain and trained manpower. With getting the vaccine doses for children, IEC activities will be carried out and publicity will be done so that they should feel that children will be completely safe with the vaccine. He said that vaccination of children is a common process. Vaccination of children is done from their birth. As soon as the vaccine dose for children is received, the vaccination will be done effectively in the State.

The Health Minister said that the infrastructure of all medical institutions in the State is being strengthened to prevent seasonal diseases and the anticipated third wave of corona. Selected 332 Community Health Centres (CHCs) in the State are being developed. More than 1600 beds are being made here and oxygen generation plants will be set up at 212 CHCs. The number of beds in ICU, NICU, PICU and SNCU is being increased in all the children’s hospitals in the State. Rajasthan is alert to face all the challenges.

The Health Minister said that the State faced the maximum problem of medical oxygen during the second wave of corona. Now in this regard, the State is on the path of self-reliance. 545 Oxygen Generation Plants have been sanctioned in the State, of which 285 have been installed and soon the remaining will be established. He said that more than 47 thousand oxygen concentrators have also been supplied. With these oxygen concentrators, 1,000-litre metric tonne medical liquid oxygen will be available.
