MAJOR A SRINIVAS REDDY, SENA MEDAL Major A Srinivas Reddy, Sena Medal 24th Battalion The Grenadiers Regiment / 55 Rashtriya Rifles 1. Since April 2018, Major A Srinivas Reddy, Sena Medal had been exhibiting exceptional valour and leadership qualities during conduct of seven successful operations of the Battalion resulting in elimination of 18 terrorists. On 29 April 2020 in a target house, the officer effectively engaged fleeing terrorists at close range resulting in elimination of one terrorist and grievously injuring the other. Terrorist eliminated was later identified as Burhan Koka, Deputy Commander of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind Tanzeem. 2. For this act of gallantry, he is awarded “BAR TO SENA MEDAL (GALLANTRY


LIEUTENANT COLONEL SHANKAR PATI BANERJEE Lieutenant Colonel Shankar Pati Banerjee 137 Field Regiment / 19 Rashtriya Rifles Lieutenant Colonel Shankar Pati Banerjee alongwith his Combat Action Team (CAT) was tasked to apprehend Over Ground Worker Ajaz Ahmad Itoo of Waniharma who on interrogation by the officer revealed presence of terrorists in village Watrigam. Showing undeterred resolve, the officer lobbed a grenade inside the hideout thus eliminating one terrorist and preventing the others from escaping. For displaying outstanding courage and exemplary leadership during extremely challenging operational circumstances, Lieutenant Colonel Shankar Pati Banerjee alongwith is awarded “SENA MEDAL (GALLANTRY)


MAJOR VINOD KAPRI Major Vinod Kapri 62 Cavalry / 55 Rashtriya Rifles On night of 21 and 22 April 2020 at approximately 2020 hours, specific input regarding presence of terrorists in Village Metahur was received. During search, four terrorists hiding astride concrete plinth of an under construction house, opened indiscriminate fire on Major Vinod Kapri and his scout party. The officer ducked down and dashed forward while facing terrorist’s fire from limited cover available and neutralized the terrorist at close range in a fierce fire fight. For this act of conspicuous gallantry, inspiring leadership and outstanding tactical acumen while ensuring zero collateral damage, Major Vinod Kapri is awarded “SENA MEDAL” (GALLANTRY).

On night of 21 and 22 April 2020 at approximately 2020 hours, a specific input regarding presence of terrorists in the Village Metahur was received. During search operation Major Vinod Kumar and his buddy were fired upon by terrorists. Major Vinod Kumar displaying raw courage and with utter disregard to personal safety brought down effective fire on fleeing terrorist and eliminated the terrorist from close range.For this act of conspicuous gallantry, inspiring leadership and outstanding tactical acumen while ensuring zero collateral damage, Major Vinod Kumar is awarded “SENA MEDAL” (GALLANTRY).

MAJOR SUDHIR KUMARMajor Sudhir Kumar33 Armoured Division Signal Regiment / 6th BattalionThe Assam RiflesOn 11 July 2020, Major Sudhir Kumar was part of an operation in Southern Arunachal Pradesh. Maj Sudhir Kumar led his small team to cordon the target. On being challenged, the insurgent tried to escape by breaking the cordon and bringing down heavy volume of fire. In a daring and swift move, displaying dynamic and astute leadership under heavy fire, Major Sudhir Kumar shotdead the injuredinsurgent at close quarters.For displaying outstanding courage and exemplary leadership during extremely challenging operational circumstances, Major Sudhir Kumar is awarded “SENA MEDAL (GALLANTRY)”.

NAIB SUBEDAR HARINDER SINGH Naib Subedar Harinder Singh 3 rd Battalion The Medium Regiment Naib Subedar Harinder Singh of 3 Medium Regiment was deployed at Ladakh during Operation Snow Leopard. On 15 June 2020 at around 2300 hours, the enemy attacked own troops with stones and improvised weapons. He thwarted enemy soldiers single handedly by his physical prowess. In recognition of his gallant actions against all odds, Naib Subedar Harinder Singh is awarded “SENA MEDAL (GALLANTRY)”.

 NAIK SHAITAN SINGH MEENA Naik Shaitan Singh Meena 24th Battalion The Grenadiers Regiment / 29 Rashtriya Rifles 1. On 25 July 2020, cordon and search operation was launched based on specific input at Village Ranbelgarh. A terrorist hiding in the foliage fired indiscriminately towards the search party and Naik Shaitan Singh meena sustained a Gun Shot Wound on his left thigh and was bleeding profusely. With total disregard to his personal safety he displayed extreme courage and indomitable character by neutralising one terrorist in close quarter combat on the spot and engaged the other to prevent him for escaping the cordon. 2. For displaying indomitable courage, undaunting bravery and outstanding espirit-de-corps in eliminating one hardcore terrorist even after being wounded, Naik Shaitan Singh Meena is awarded “SENA MEDAL (GALLANTRY).

NAIK SHIVAJI Naik Shivaji 18TH Battalion The KUMAON Regiment / 50 Rashtriya Rifles On 28-29 August 2020, Naik Shivaji was part of search team during Cordon and Search Operation in village Zudur of district Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. He steadied his nerves and was determined to eliminate hiding terrorist. For displaying conspicuous courage, unparalleled initiative and marksmanship under adverse situation and neutralising one terrorist, he is awarded “SENA MEDAL (GALLANTRY)”.
LANCE DAFFADAR KULDEEP SINGH Lance Daffadar Kuldeep Singh 20th Battalion The Lancers / 55 Rashtriya Rifles 1. On 20 October 2020, in orchards next to Village Melahur Lance Daffadar Kuldeep Singh maintaining his tactical composure and displaying undaunting bravery under heavy indiscriminate terrorist fire, effectively engaged the fleeing terrorist at close range and eliminated one hardcore terrorist. The terrorist was later identified as Tawseef Ahmad Khanday of Hizbul Mujahideen Tanzeem. 2. For this act of gallantry, he is awarded “SENA MEDAL (GALLANTRY)”. 

LANCE NAIK SAMSAD ALI Lance Naik Samsad Ali 14th Battalion The Mechanised Regiment / 42 Rashtriya Rifles Lance Naik Samsad Ali was performing the duties of a Scout in Mondura Company Assault Team during Operation Chewa conducted on 25-26 Jun 2020. He rose to the occasion and displaying unstinted bravery, sharp and tremendous battle action with utter disregard to his own safety engaged the fleeing terrorist from a close range of 10 meters and eliminated him. Lance Naik Samsad Ali displayed utmost bravery, proactive soldierly character and exceptional firing skill in engaging and eliminating Haris Manzoor Bhat, terrorist of Hizbul Mujahideen from a close range. For this act he is awarded “SENA MEDAL (GALLANTRY)”

ACTING LANCE DAFFADAR KARTAR RAM BANA Acting Lance Daffadar Kartar Ram Bana 20th Battalion The Lancers / 55 Rashtriya Rifles 1. On 29 April 2020, in Village Melahur Lance Daffadar Kartar Ram Bana closed towards terrorist under covering fire from his buddy and exhibiting dauntless courage with utter disregard to personal safety, neutralized one terrorist. Terrorist eliminated was later identified as Nasir Bhat of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind-Tanzeem. 2. For this act of gallantry, he is awarded “SENA MEDAL (GALLANTRY)”

GRENADIER ASHISH KUMAR Grenadier Ashish Kumar 24th Battalion The Grenadiers Regiment / 55 Rashtriya Rifles 1. On 23 June 2020, in Village Lower Bandzu Grenadier Ashish Kumar dashed towards the terrorist from limited cover and eliminated the terrorist at close range. Terrorist eliminated was identified as Owais Ahmed Bhat of Jaish-e-Mohammad Tanzeem. 2. For this act of gallantry, he is awarded “SENA MEDAL (GALLANTRY)”
