Jodhpur, Nov 21 Dr. KritiBharti, Managing Trustee of Saarthi Trust and Rehabilitation Psychologist, was awarded with the world-renowned Kirtan singer and social worker SanjeevaniPushpalataRanade Memorial National Courage Award at a grand function organized in Pune for her bold campaign to abolish child marriage.
Dr. KritiBharti, the only social
activist among the personalities from different walks of life across the
country, was honored. Renowned Pandwani folk singer Padma Vibhushan Dr.
TeejanBai and renowned cricketer Padma BhushanChandrakantChanduBorde highly
appreciated Dr. Kriti's bold campaign for annulment and prevention of child
marriage.
Pune's renowned KirtanSanjivaniRanadeSansthan’s
awards are given to outstanding personalities from across the country. This
Year, Dr. KritiBharti, Managing Trustee of Saarthi Trust, who was included in
BBC's list of 100 inspirational women for her bold campaign for child marriage
annulment and prevention, was selected for the
National Courage Award. Many eminent personalities including CA Suresh Ranade,
singer JayshreeRanade were present at the function.
On this occasion, Padma
Vibhushan renowned Pandwani singer Dr. TeejanBai and Padma Bhushan renowned
cricketer ChandrakantChanduBorde praised Dr. KritiBharti's campaign of
annulment of child marriage. Among other distinguished personalities,
President's Award-winning Diabetes Moderator Dr. RavindraNandedkar, Research
Director of Corona Vaccine Maker Serum Institute Dr. UmeshShaligram,
90-year-old tall maestro MauliTakalkar were given special honours.
It is noteworthy that Dr. KritiBharti had taken a unique bold
initiative by getting the country's first child marriage annulled. She
was included in the BBC's list of 100 Inspirational Women and the World Top Ten
Activists list by the international TAFFD magazine. She has annulled 47
child marriages and prevented more than 1600 child marriages so far which was
included in many records. Dr. Kriti has been awarded many national and
international honors including the prestigious MarwarRatna, MewarRatna of the
Rajgharana’s of Mewar and Marwar.
