Corona vaccine wastage is less than 1% in the State – Health Minister


Jaipur, 17 June.Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma said that Rajasthan is among the leading States of the country in administering corona vaccines and in maximum use of vaccine with minimum wastage. The corona vaccine wastage in the State is only 0.8% as per the data till June 12.

Dr Sharma said that in a few districts of the State, the wastage has been registered in minus using maximum doses present in the vaccine vial. These districts include Ajmer minus 3.6%, Baran minus 3.3%, Barmer minus 2.3%, Bharatpur minus 0.1%, Bikaner minus 3.4%, Bundi minus 1.2%, Chittorgarh minus 2.4%, Ganganagar minus 0.6%, Hanumangarh minus 2.2%, Jhalawar minus 0.1%, Jhunjhunu minus 2.4%, Jodhpur minus 1.4%, Nagaur minus 2.7%, Pali minus 2.6%, Pratapgarh minus 1.6%, Sawaimadhopur minus 1.4%, Sikar minus 2.0% and Udaipur minus 1.4%.


The Health Minister said that wastage recorded in Alwar was 2%, Banswara 6.7%, Bhilwara 0.4%, Churu 13.5%, Dungarpur 4.7%, Jaipur 6.4%, Jaisalmer 2.8%, Jalore 1.2%, Karauli 2.1%, Kota 1.1%, Rajsamand 5.6%, Sirohi 4.3% and Tonk 0.7%.


Dr Sharma said that as per the guideline of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India the vial of covid-19 vaccine should be used within four hours after opening. He said the session sites where the number of beneficiaries is less but doses are there in the vial and the stipulated time of 4 hours is over, then the remaining doses are considered as discarded. Disposal of vials after the use is done as per the guidelines of the Union Health Ministry.
