SAFE ROUTE COMPETITION: INTERNATIONAL ARMY GAMES - 2021



Jaipur,  15 August .A team consisting of 3 officers and 25 OR of 38 Assault Engineer Regiment, SAPTA SHAKTI Sappers departed from India on 08 Aug  and reached The school of Engineering ‘Andreevskoe’ Tyumen, Russia  to take part in Safe Route Competition of International Army Games 2021, scheduled wef 24 Aug to 04 Sep 2021. A total of 8 countries are participating in the competition alongside India. The countries include Uzbekistan, Belarus, Laos, Venezuela, Russia, Vietnam and Egypt.
On 15 Aug, Russian Military organized a flag hoisting ceremony for the Indian Contingent. Teams of all participating nations including Russia joined the flag hoisting ceremony in uniform. Ceremony started with Col Buzon head of the organizing Committee congratulating Indian Contingent on the occasion of Independence Day. He said that “We celebrate the day together with India with immense pride and glory, being men in uniform from Corps of Engineers of respective Armies”. He also presented the head of delegation a token of remembrance. 

Lt Col Satish Kumar, Contingent Commander, Indian Army thanked the Russian military for organizing the celebration and expressed gratitude to teams from Russia, Vietnam, Venezuela, Uzbekistan, Laos, Egypt and Belarus for joining the celebrations. Flag was hoisted by Lt Col Satish Kumar. This was followed by National Anthem being played by Russian military band and distribution of sweets amongst the various teams in a Military manner. This was a momentous and historic occasion for the Indian Contingent as the Indian flag was hoisted in a foreign land with military teams of seven other nations in attendance.
