To commemorate the 50th anniversary of India’s Victory in 1971 war and 75th anniversary of Indian independence, Indian Army in conjunction with civil administration initiated a cleanliness drive at two major tourist destinations of Alwar, Bala Quila and Siliserh Lake on 27 September 2021.
The event was organised under Jal and thal Swachhta pakhwada to promote a prosperous and beautiful environment which is nurtured through public participation. Other than The Army troops, the event so participation from students of Army Public School, NCC Cadets, Tourism Department of India & Rajasthan and an NGO run by Alam Chand Gandhi Charitable trust.
Cleanliness has been intrinsic to the culture and tradition of Armed Forces. Hence the aim of the event was to create awareness amongst the masses on the importance and benefits of cleanliness. Army has always been steadfast in its resolve towards clean and green India and has been proactive in its initiatives towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyan
