CHIEF OF STAFF SOUTH WESTERN COMMAND FLAGS OFF SWARNIM VIJAY VARSH CYCLING EXPEDITION




Jaipur, 13 December.  a cycling expedition from Jaipur to Fazilka has been undertaken by the troops of Sada Vijayee Engineer Regiment of Sapta Shakti Command to commomerote Swarnim Vijay Varsh and as a precursor to the Fazilka Vijay Diwas.

          Lieutenant General, RC Tiwari, Chief of Staff, Sapta Shakti Command  flagged off the expedition from Prerna Sthal Jaipur on 13 December 21. The expedition will cover a distance of  508  kms over five days and will be flagged in at Fazilka on Dec 17 as part of the Fazilka Day Celebrations.

          The Sada Vijayee Regiment was part of the troops deployed for defence of Fazilka during the 1971 War and forms integral part of the celebrations every year.

          The cycling expedition team will traverse through Districts of Sikar, Ratangarh, Pallu, Hanumangarh in Rajasthan before finally arriving at Fazilka. The team also plans to reach out to veterans enroute as well as vis various scholols and colleges to motivate youth, foster a sense of pride and adventure as well as to recall the valour and courage of our Bravehearts during the 1971 Indo-Pak War.
