Jaipur, April 4. Chief Minister Mr Ashok Gehlot flagged off the Mobile Investigation Units (MIUs) of the Rajasthan Police from the Secretariat premises on Monday.
The State Government had given administrative and financial
sanction of Rs 9 crore 97 lakh 50 thousand for the MIUs under the police
modernisation scheme in the year 2021-22. The police will be handed over around
71 MIUs, of which it has received around 48 MIUs. These MIU vans will be used
in the police stations situated far from the district headquarters. With the
help of these MIUs, immediate action can be taken in the incidents taking place
in remote areas and time taken in the investigation will also be saved.
Director General of Police Shri ML Lather informed the Chief
Minister that the investigation officers will immediately reach the spot with
the availability of MIU and with the help of gadgets can do the investigation
on the spot. With this, witnesses need not have to be called and with the
reduction in the average time of investigation, its quality will also improve.
