ARMY TREKKING TEAM SET TO SCALE KHARAL TOP

 

           Jaipur, 9 September .General Officer Commanding, Dot on Target Division Major General Ashish Shah flagged off Trekking Expedition to Kharal Top, Himachal Pradesh from Hisar on 09 September. The trekking expedition consisting of 14 members is attempting the fabled Chanderkhani – Kharal Trekking route in Himachal Pradesh. 

         The 17 days Trekking would traverse through Parvati Valley starting from Naggar, covering Shepherd’s trek and will summit at Kharal Top. The Trekking commemorates Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and spirit of adventure.

           The 14 members team from 5 Armoured Regiment has been trained in various courses and will test the risk taking propensity and love for adventure of the individuals. The team would also undertake the task of environmental awareness and spreading the message of love for nature on the way.

            Trekking is one of the important adventure activities being undertaken by Indian Army on a regular basis. Such activities instil soldiers with courage, camaraderie and is a test of endurance. It also re-assures the local population about the reach and mission of Indian Army supporting the national cause at far flung areas.


 Indian Army has been reaching out to such places for enhancing the morale and motivation of all ranks as well as to explore the vastness of geography & culture of our country. Indian Army has natural love for mountains, is always on the lookout to experience a life less ordinary and firmly believes in the saying “Great Things happen when Men and Mountains meet.”
